Permanent Federal Savings (The Plaza Downtown)(1963)

The Permanent Federal Savings Building was completed in 1963. At five stories, the building may not be the most prominent in size but its design sets it apart. Rectangular in shape, the two-story glass base supports a three-story upper block which is cantilevered out over the base on three sides. The large continuous window walls of glass divided by aluminum and panels are a signature Bank Building & Equipment Corporation element, along with the side utility/mechanical towers. In 2007, a conversion of the building into The Plaza Downtown renovated the floors three through five to residential condominiums and added a sixth floor penthouse. A rooftop deck also includes a putting green.
